About Us

Asal “Vox” Gibson, founder and Chief Executive Officer of CyRoot, is a seasoned Cyber Security Consultant with extensive experience in leadership, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity management.

With over $100 million in cybersecurity projects successfully managed, Vox currently leads the cybersecurity program for the Clark County School District (CCSD) and teaches at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She has consulted for notable companies such as AirBNB’s risk management team and MGM Resorts International, and she provides corporate cybersecurity training to ThriveDX.

Vox holds an Active Top Secret security clearance with the Department of Defense (DOD), reflecting her trusted role in handling sensitive and classified information. She is also deeply committed to mentoring both students and young professionals, focusing on building their leadership and project management skills. Vox has educated over 500 students in cybersecurity bootcamps, helping shape the next generation of professionals in the field.

In addition to her consulting and teaching roles, Vox serves on the board of directors for Help R Heroes and the AI and Cybersecurity Committee at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

Experience

Asal has held significant roles throughout her career, including working as a Subject Matter Expert on OSINT Technical Systems at the Pentagon. During a two-year assignment with the US Air Force in undisclosed locations in Southwest Asia, she led efforts to identify threats against US troops, military bases, and strategic interests in the Middle East. She excelled in building critical relationships with community leaders in Arabic-speaking regions, leveraging these connections to gather accurate and actionable intelligence. After returning from deployment, Asal played a pivotal role at the U.S. Department of State, where she helped establish their first OSINT department to monitor threats against former Secretary Michael Pompeo, U.S. embassies overseas, and U.S. interests. Notably, Asal was one of the first threat analysts at the State Department to research the Wuhan Virus, later known as COVID-19. Since then, she has been working in the cybersecurity field in the education sector in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Community Involvement

Asal is deeply involved in her community. She led the effort to bring the Girls on The Run program to Nellis Air Force Base, providing a mentoring platform for girls on the base. Additionally, she is a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Military Affairs Committee (MAC), Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce (SNVCC) and serves as a board member of Help R Heroes. Her leadership is driven by a commitment to security, education, and community service
